Getting Started

How do I set up a Livecage account?

Setting up an account is easy. Just click on the “Sign Up” link on the home page, then fill in the form. Remember that an asterisk indicates a required field.

When you enter the information, you can choose which information you want other users to be able to see. Just check the boxes marked “Show.”

What is the difference between a free and a paid Livecage account?

Anyone can access Livecage and enjoy access to the videos, photos, and audio files that Livecage users have designated as public.

As a registered user, you can rate other users’ videos, use Livecage messaging, upload media files, create a personal page, and even hold small audio or video conferences.

But only paid users enjoy expanded conferencing capabilities.

Using Livecage

How do I view or listen to a file?

From the selection on the screen, simply click on the thumbnail for the video or audio file you want to access. Another page will open, and the video or audio file will begin to play.

If a thumbnail is labeled as an audio or a video channel, it provides access to a live audio or video stream.

How do I access private user media?

To access private media, you need to be a registered Livecage user. Sign into your account, click the “Private” tab, and click on the thumbnail for the file you want to access.

How do I join a conference?

Joining a conference is as easy as watching a video. Just find the thumbnail, which will be labeled as either an audio room or a video room, and click on it. You will be asked to give permission for Livecage to access your camera and/or microphone. To join the conference, you must allow access.

How do I search for a picture, video, or audio file?

In the box labeled “Find,” enter your search term in the “Content” box, and click on “Search It.”

From the main page, click on the + tab to the right of the thumbnail. Alternatively, if you are already viewing a file, click on “Add to Favorites” above the viewer.

The URL for each file is displayed in the information box beside the viewer. Simply copy the URL, and paste the link into an email in your email program.
